About
Hi there, I’m Paul Fletcher, a 24 year old New Media Designer, living, studying, and working in the beautiful, and energetic, downtown San Francisco, California.
If you’re scratching your head wondering what exactly a New Media Designer is, don’t worry, you’re not alone. In fact, it’s a relatively new title. Essentially, we’re the intersection between traditional design, and new technologies. At our core, we adapt, and grow with the ever-changing technologies to stay current. Armed with the knowledge of modern-day standards, and emerging platforms, I design cross-brand, and cross-media experiences that meet contemporary design challenges—because lets face it, we all know that ideas aren’t valuable unless they can be executed, and executed well.
At the moment I’m working towards achieving my Bachelors of Fine Arts in the field of Web Design + New Media—at the Academy of Art University. I expect to graduate in the fall of 2012, incase you were curious. I whole heartedly enjoy working in each of the diverse facets that New Media offers. Although, if asked for a specific I’d have to say I love the micro-climate of interactive web design.
More specifically the process of designing a unique user experience based on the needs of a client. Then moving a simple collection of sketches to a fully realized design. Then subsequently transitioning
that idea to a fully functioning, usable website—integrated with today’s most popular content management systems. I strive to insure that all my sites employ the latest web standards, technology, and accessibility considerations.
I take great pride in my work, giving meticulous attention to detail, while insuring timely delivery of the final product. No matter whether its in my areas of expertise, or treading new ground on the edge, you can rest assured that when you hire me, you’ll get nothing but my best.
Outside work I enjoy spending time with my newly rescued Havanese puppy. His name’s Bentley, incase you were wondering. While not into design, he does enjoy the finer art of mailman tormenting, and guard dog duties.
When Bentley and I aren’t outside, with camera in hand, or watching the Packers win the Superbowl—yes I’m a Wisconsinite cheesehead. I often find myself reading New Media related blogs, participating in the online social experiment, or enjoying a bit of reading on my iPad.
